ScratchBit Early Access 0.2 Patch - 3/28/2026:
Added transparency and whitelist colors
Fixed bugs
Added instructions:
To remove a color from an image: Find the hex code of that color and paste it into the function parameter of "SAVE ScratchBit Code" called "whitelist_color", or do the same with "LOAD ScratchBit Code" to remove a color upon loading a code
To add overall transparency to an image, type a number into the "transparency" parameter of either "SAVE ScratchBit Code" or "LOAD ScratchBit Code" (0 is fully transparent, 100 is no transparent). Load transparency parameters override saved transparency parameters.
*This is an early access version of ScratchBit, a powerful project that can convert images, pen drawings, and portions of frames into a code that can be used to save and import images into projects! This version may contain bugs, and does not yet have a complete user interface.
Website members can now access an early version of ScratchBit by downloading the .sb3 file in the file share.
How to use:
Add a backdrop, costume, or pen drawing
Click enter to generate a save code
When prompted for a key input, click a to generate a compressed code (can be loaded back into the project) or click b to generate a web-friendly code (which can be loaded into this tool and downloaded). Copy the code from the list titled "ScratchBit by @leotimechannelorg"
The change to a purple theme was quite abrupt for some, and we want the option of blue back! Check out our forum page on this topic to support. Learn how to change scratch back to blue here.
In 2017, the Scratch Team prohibited discussions about browser extensions on the Scratch website. However, some of these extensions, such as Scratch Addons, are very useful and provide many quality-of-life features. Scratchers should be able to tell other scratchers about these extensions, as they can help a lot while coding. Check out our forum page on this topic to support.
