ScratchMusic 2.0 is almost here!

In February of 2024, we released ScratchMusic, a free music streaming platform on Scratch! The project was a success, with many people enjoying the project. During 2024, there were some minor updates that added a few extra features, but this year I thought that I should update the project to be more comprehensive, easier to use, and more like a real streaming service. ScratchMusic 2.0 will likely increase the number of songs to over 100, with probably around 50 artists. Aside from that, there will be 5+ genre playlists, improved looks, and you can now click directly on a song to play it!

Some of the new playlists that will be added:

• Scratcher Favorites: 15 songs most upvoted by Scratchers (in the comments)

• Electronic Music Mix: A station with EDM and electronic genre songs

• Kygo and Similar Artists Station: A more mellow EDM station, based around Kygo's style

• '80s Playlist: A station focused on '80s music

• COVID Era Hits: Remember those songs from COVID, the ones we listened to at home during quarantine?

Along with the existing playlists:

• Mira Royal Detective (Seasons 1&2)

• Big Ambitions EA 0.4 Playlist Highlights

UI Improvements:

• You can now click on a song to play it instead of typing the number in an input box

• You can add a song to your library without playing it first

• Save/Load library button has been moved to the "Your Library" section

• Music search has been streamlined

• Expanded mini-player

Other changes:

• Mira Royal Detective songs are now available for individual streaming (and a change in the way playlists are coded)

• The mini-player is wider due to removed buttons

• Search results now have a tab that allows you to switch between, songs, artists, playlists, and songs in your library that match your search query

• Various bug fixes, patches, etc.
